Smokin` Joe`s BBQ in Bowling Green

We tried this place as we often pass it on our way to Orlando. The store front exudes delicious country food, so we decided to give it a shot. You can see and smell the meat being smoked in the front parking lot. The food itself was perfectly smoked(we got ribs and chicken plate and brisket plate). Unfortunately, the meats had no seasoning on it and the sides were lackluster at best(we got baked beans, mac n cheese, and potato salad which were all bland). The saving grace is their BBQ sauce which was amazing. Made the food taste substantially better but would have been alittle nicer if the meats and sides were seasoned. All in all, a decent place that gives copious amount of food for a good price.

Absolutely amazing barbecue!! The best in Florida! We travel the country showing livestock. This was an amazing find for us and our new go to place when in town! Portions are huge, food is amazing! You can't go wrong here!!

Drove past it too many times, stopped in finally, and it was easily a winner on the BBQ compared to anyone within miles and miles. Worth it! Very laid back joint, go for the taste! Old school the way it should be. It'll be a regular stop when cruising between Orlando and Ft Myers for sure. Yum.

1st time visitor food was great customer service was excitement. being I came 2 hours to get my I'd in wachula seen it in traffic came back around on the way back. get thier cabbage and macaroni and cheese and chicken wings with the fries by themselves Fed me and 2 riders will come again in the near future

Don’t judge a book by its cover!!! This place looks rough and ready to rumble and the customer service is ok but it is the food that is the winner! Good priced and HUGE portions! Hit this place up 2x!

We stopped by while on a roadtrip. This was the best BBQ I've had in almost a lifetime! Real BBQ, homemade sauces were perfectly balanced, homemade sides were so very good. I wish I could stop by regularly. When I'm passing through, ever, I need to stop. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Thank you so much.

Definitely stop it going through town. A little local BBQ Pit with delicious full flavored Foods.

Delicious bbq!!! First time will be back to try moregood portion for a great price im a huge bbq fan people have to stop by and try this place. You will not regret it i promise you.

Old style country BBQ cook in a big smoker. The building is old but the food is awesome. Slow cooked tender great portions!! Mac and cheese is awesome. This place is worth the stop!!

The only thing about this place that isn’t junkie is the food. The food is awesome and I love the sauces!The green beans are cooked to perfection; seasoned with pulled pork. My wife said the potato salad was good, but it is canned. I don’t care, though, it was prepared just how I like it! The fried okra was golden wonderful. You can’t beat the food. Be prepared, though. The place is not so clean. The floors under the counter and display cases are filthy, and the restroom was a disaster. Management obviously cares more for cuisine than sanitation, when they should be equally paired. Regardless, we enjoyed the food but probably won’t be back unless they clean the joint up.

Had a fantastic experience in this spot with my girlfriend. The food arrived fast and the customer service is just excellent. Prices are reasonable.

For a small place that you barely notice they have a great smoke pork sandwich with 2 sides for $7.99. You get a lot of pulled pork, we got a side salad and mac and cheese. A lot of great food at a reasonable price. 😊👍

This place have the Best BBQ in Hardee and Polk County. I tell everyone don't let the Pig on the wall or The Grill near the road fool you INSIDE IS THE BEST.

Turn the car around and go experience this amazing hidden gem.Tonight I ordered a brisket dinner, mac and cheese and cheese fries. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich, cheese fries and Mac and Cheese. So good. My only regret is not getting pictures. The perfect road trip should include BBQ and ice cream from Smokin Joe's

The pulled pork was delicious and even better when I put the sauce on. Also loved loved loved the collards. Great food!! Great price!! A must stop on your travels !!!

The pulled pork is always good. The portions are always generous.

Everything is great but you gotta try the sausage. It's about 75 miles away from where I live but well worth the trip.

Chicken was dry and dining room was overwhelmed with fly's. Tables not cleaned between guests (Covid19). Bathroom was utterly disgusting. Do yourself a favor and stop somewhere else.

Loved the banana pudding dessert, and the hand dipped black walnut ice cream. They were out of brisket, but the chicken was moist and yummy.
